Membership applicants and members

•    Contact details of key representatives, directors and officers

•    Certification evidence: standards conformance documents, safety records, financial information, policies, and notes from site visits and staff interviews

Event attendees, training delegates and subscribers

•    Registration details, dietary or accessibility needs (only if you give them), and your communication preferences

Confidentiality of certification

Certification findings, including the ALMECS Certification Checklist, stay strictly confidential between ALMECS and the applicant. The only thing we make public is whether a member holds the ALMECS Membership Certificate.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

•    independent consultants appointed to help with certification, who are bound by confidentiality

•    service providers, such as website hosting, CRM, email, payment and accounting providers, who act on our instructions

•    event partners and venues, where you register for a joint event

•    professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement, where the law requires it

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, we use appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep your information

•    Enquiries: up to 2 years

•    Member records: for the length of membership plus 6 years

•    Certification records: for the length of membership plus 6 years, or 2 years if an application is unsuccessful

•    Marketing data: until you unsubscribe

•    Financial records: 6 years, as the law requires
