ALMECS is the Association of Laundry Machinery, Equipment and Chemicals Suppliers. We speak for suppliers to the industrial laundry sectors.
Â
Membership is not simply bought. Every supplier has to pass a structured certification process before it can join the ALMECS Assured list.

Why ALMECSÂ

ALMECS builds on the technical, engineering, regulatory and safety focus of the industry organisations such as SLEAT (Society of Laundry Engineers and Allied Trades). The representatives of these trade bodies made a widely credited contribution to industry codes such as the CTW Code of Practice. ALMECS Assured brings that expertise together under one authoritative framework.
Built on proven expertise
What we check
-
Confidence in compliance: Equipment and chemicals backed by documented conformance, which lowers your regulatory and safety
-
Reliable support: Suppliers who have shown they can install, commission and keep your operation running.
-
Progress on sustainability: Partners who can help you track, analyse and reduce your Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
-
Protection over time: Assurance is an ongoing condition of membership, not a one-off badge. Members must keep meeting ALMECS standards.
-
A stronger industry: ALMECS gives suppliers an independent voice, works with trade bodies and regulators, and pulls members’ expertise together to support standards, training and technical development.

Assurance
Choosing a machinery, equipment or chemicals supplier is a long-term decision. It affects your safety, your compliance, your uptime and your carbon footprint. The ALMECS Assured mark tells you that a supplier has been independently checked against the standards that matter most to laundries.
Suppliers the laundry industry can trust
Independent verification
Members are assessed on site, with staff interviews and document checks. Self-declaration is not enough.
Standards you can rely on
Machinery and equipment must be shown to conform to ISO, EN and BS standards, including BS EN ISO 10472, supporting CE and UKCA marking.
Whole-lifecycle competence
Supply, installation (RAMS), commissioning, after-sales service and breakdown support are all tested.
Sustainability built in
Commitments to ESPR, EPR and net zero help operators cut Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
